What Can Investing Do For You?

Invest, invest, invest. Does that turn into blah blah blah to you? We all know that we should invest, so let’s skip ahead to the fun stuff: what investing can actually do for you. (Besides help you avoid the dreaded dog food in retirement scenario, that is.)

The fun stuff

A survey from the Motley Fool (done as part of their efforts for Worldwide Invest Better Day) shows that it’s not all about retirement.

They asked “What has investing given you the ability to do?” and things like taking a vacation, owning nice toys (airplane, anyone?), and buying a house were on the list.

Of course, the ability to retire and taking care of your family were on the list too, but a lot of the things on the list are FUN.

The details

Why it matters

So why does this matter? It matters because you’ve got to find YOUR reason. What do you want for your future? What are your hopes and dreams? What do you want to avoid?

You shouldn’t invest because you’re “supposed to” or because a ton of personal finance people talk about why it’s important to blah blah blah.

Invest because you know exactly what it can do for you. After all, it’s your life, and your money. Make sure it goes the way YOU want it to.
