Persist, Persist, Persist
Each morning, I start the day off by reading this little excerpt from The Traveler’s Gift to myself:
Today, I choose to persist without exception. I hold fast to my dreams. I stay the course. I keep going.
It’s a great reminder to continue to act toward my dreams, instead of giving up or taking too many breaks.
You can have the best ideas and intentions in the world, but if you don’t constantly and consistently persist in making them a reality, they never become more than thought.
Thoughts are powerful, because thoughts color our perceptions and inspire action, but there’s a whole lot of persisting needed to go from thought, to action, to desired result.
Sure, things don’t always go your way. You might have to find ways to reach your goal that you hadn’t envisioned when you set out.
But when a roadblock, detour, or divergent path appears, make sure you persist anyway.
(Without exception.)
Sometimes doubt creeps into the plan for my ‘dreams’, and I absolutely hate that. There are certain things that I really hope to accomplish, and then that devil on my shoulder tells me that I am crazy. I need an ‘excerpt’ that I can rely on to chase those thoughts away.
Oh, I get those doubts too. Feel free to borrow “my” excerpt!
It’s tough to keep going, especially when there’s no results. But Hard work will always pay off by either reaching your goal or by teaching you a lesson. However, you won’t get either if you don’t persist.
Too true, and either way it’s an experience.
Thoughts are powerful. So are the words that we speak. Every morning I read scriptures from my Bible aloud and I say a few affirmation or faith confessions that I have written.
I agree, speaking them aloud seems to make them even stronger.
Great quote! Persistence and perseverance are the keys to success! I think about that a lot when the going gets tough.
I agree — you can’t get anywhere if you don’t get started and then keep going.
