Wrapping up a Hectic, Spendy Week

I’m super beat after this hectic week, so today’s post will be rather short. It’s also been a spendy week, so I need to recover from that too! (So much for not spending much money this month.)

I had an unexpected car repair to the tune of nearly $900 (although, when are car repairs ever expected?). It’s mostly labor costs — kinda makes me wish I had a bunch of tools and more free time. But then again my mechanic sure knows a lot more about cars than I do, so better him than me.

How has your week been? Any plans for Valentine’s day? We’ll just be hanging out doing the usual stuff, along with some relaxing.

And now here are a few links:

Modern Tightwad tells why you should have goals instead of resolutions.

Fiscal Fizzle asks, what are your money tapes?

NCN has been busy buying a house. (And of course he’s already planning ways to pay it off in record time.)

Finally, Canadian Finance Blog hosted the Carnival of Debt Reduction this past week. Check it out if you’re working on getting out of debt.
