I think you nailed it in your article. Personally, I meet people who are making a great deal of money but who are nowhere near what I'd call successful, essentially because they're missing that "enthusiasm and confidence" that you talk about in your article. I believe that to a degree, it has to do with whether or not you enjoy what you do for a living, and whether or not you manage to have a certain balance in your life (work-leisure-family). Of course, the financial part has to be taken care of, but so many people focus solely on it that they miss the bigger picture.
