		<description>Great post.  I often find myself feeling relieved after I look through the weekly sale flyers and realize that there is nothing there that I want.  Paring back on our wants and realizing that buying things isn&#039;t going to make us happier (and may do the opposite) is one great step toward true financial independence.</description>

Our biggest problems are trying to figure out what to get each other for Christmas and Birthdays. :)

I end up telling family members to buy me gift certificates to restaurants that I like and that are close to where I work.  Then I use those gift cards for the occassional treat out at lunch.</description>
