Make Time to Change Your Life
We all start out adulthood with a variety of goals, dreams, and ideas. Somewhere along the way though, most of us get busy or sidetracked by everyday life. While it’s natural for the things we want to morph over time a little, at our hearts we still want something. If you’re not already doing what’s important to you, make time to change your life.
This isn’t so much about setting goals, either. It’s about making time to live your dreams.
What’s important to you
You already know what’s important to you. That probably includes your family, overcoming something you see as an issue, and a wish or dream that just won’t go away, no matter what’s going on in your life. We’ve all got something.
Many issues are financial, and many dreams require funding. Sometimes, too, you just need to know that what you want really is possible.
Let me tell you: Unless what you’re trying to do is something that no one in the entire world has ever done before, it IS possible.
Now you’ve just got to do everything in your power to make it probable.
It starts with where you are now
Stop procrastinating, and start moving. With 15 minutes a day if you have to.
Everyone has 15 minutes a day. If you don’t think you do, it’s because you’re doing something with 15 minutes of your day that isn’t as important to you as what you really want, deep down inside.
That something might be sleeping, cleaning, relaxing “for a few minutes” after work, honoring an activity commitment that no longer fits in your life, saying yes too often, etc.
Make time to change your life.
Even if it’s just a baby step, it’s moving you in the right direction.
Baby steps will get you everywhere eventually :)
I’ve also seen this said as make sure to invest in yourself. Whatever way you want to put it, it’s great advice and I think we all need a reminder every now and then!
Yes, investing in yourself is important. Why not get the things out of life that you want?
Couldn’t agree with you more. Seems like a lot of my friends are just struggling to get by in jobs that they hate and are too tired to look for better opportunities.
It’s sad that being too tired is such an obstacle so many times. But it’s not an insurmountable obstacle by any means!
I don’t have to make time because I problem solve when I am exercising or first thing in the morning. I tend to think clearer in the morning.
That sounds like you already are making time :)
You know the difference between a leader and a manager? A manager manages status quo where leader manages change. In essence what you are asking is to become a true leader of our own life. You got my buy in already! good call for action.
What have you changed lately?
That’s a good way to put it! What have I changed? The way I’m eating. I’m now eating 5 small meals a day spread throughout the day instead of eating a medium-sized meal, a big one, and another medium-sized meal. I have already noticed a difference in how I feel, although it’s surprisingly hard to eat all the time like that!
I love it when you post stuff like this! It’s usually when I need a kick in the butt. Thanks for your intuition there. :^)
Glad you find my kicks helpful ;)
This really spoke to me. I’m a big believer in to-do lists, but they don’t always address the larger picture. Putting your dreams on a to-do list is a life changer. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks for letting me know it inspired you :)
