Did you know there are five words that will make you more productive and kill procrastination?
They’re simple, but deadly.
Before I tell you what they are, let me tell you a little story.
I am soooo not a morning person, unless morning starts right around lunchtime. Despite that, I get up by 5:30am (or earlier) on weekdays, and by 7am at least one of the weekend days. That’s just what I have to do, for various reasons.
If you ARE a morning person, you’re probably thinking “Big deal” — but it IS a big deal. Me getting up long before dawn most days is the morning person’s equivalent of working til 1am every night with no caffeine.
The point is, I start out each day thinking, “Ugh, I don’t want to get up! It’s too early!”
Then I answer myself with these five magic words:
“So what. Do it anyway.”
And I get up.
We all encounter obstacles on the way to reaching our goals. We all have days (sometimes every day) where we don’t feel like doing things. We’d all rather be watching a movie, sleeping in, or doing whatever.
But if you really want to get to where you want to be, say those magic words when you hear yourself procrastinating or listing “reasons” why its hard for you to do something. Say ‘em out loud if you have to.
Then listen to yourself.
